Arsinoe's Journey through Time
A unique journey through time unfolds between past and present, yesterday and today, across landscapes both familiar and transformed. Through the Museum’s six impressive screens, visitors follow the story of the protagonist, Arsinoe, and experience a narrative voyage that bridges history with modern reality.
In Arsinoe’s Journey, the viewer follows the protagonist on an imaginatively directed yet historically grounded voyage. Starting in the 14th century BC, she boards a Mycenaean ship arriving at Ancient Marion to trade the region’s copper. The story then shifts to 1952 AD, to the Kinousa Mine, where she witnesses moments from the daily lives of the miners of that era.
The journey continues into the early 21st century with a stroll along the unique natural trails surrounding Aphrodite’s Baths, among visitors rediscovering the area’s natural treasures. Finally, the viewer is taken to the early 20th century, at the small port of Latsi and the old carob warehouses, witnessing the process of loading carob baskets for export around the world.
An interactive experience that weaves together culture and memory through the personal narrative of a woman, Arsinoe, who connects eras and people.
