Mediterranean Room
Discover the Mediterranean Sea, the cradle of ancient civilizations.
The “Mediterranean” Hall welcomes visitors with a historical cartographic presentation of the Mare Nostrum Sea, the sea that served as the birthplace of great civilizations throughout history and as a vital route for communication between East and West.
The visitor will then wander through interactive maps in the hinterland of Polis Chrysochous and the Akamas Peninsula to discover uncovering the points of interest that shape the culture and history of the region.
The tour of the Hall concludes with a historical overview of the building itself, tracing its story from the early 20th century to its present-day transformation into a Museum.

Travel through time and space to Akamas and Polis Chrysochous.
Embark on a journey through past and present, across familiar or dramatically different landscapes, as a series of events unfolds across the Museum’s six large screens.
Enjoy authentic video films as part of a unique museum experience. The latest-generation LED Video Wall screens - covering a total area of 60 square meters and standing over two meters tall - feature high-definition visuals along with advanced touch and sound systems. These cutting-edge installations bring a new dynamic to the space and promise an immersive experience for visitors of all ages, enriching their knowledge and evoking a wide range of emotions.

Immerse yourself in the spectacle of Virtual Reality Technology.
Embark on a virtual journey to the Akamas Peninsula and discover the past of a region that played a significant role in the island’s history, as well as the present of one of the most beautiful and captivating unspoiled areas of Cyprus.
Walk along scenic trails, swim in some of the clearest and bluest waters the island has to offer, and enjoy a breathtaking diving experience with panoramic views from above.
The region’s rich and multi-layered history is brought to life before the visitor’s eyes through the impressive capabilities of cutting-edge virtual reality technology.
