On Friday, 5 September 2025, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, officially inaugurated the new Maritime & Cultural Center of the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous, marking a historic moment for the cultural and tourist development of the area. The Center is a modern space dedicated to the maritime and cultural heritage of Cyprus, aiming to highlight the history, tradition and timeless relationship of the place with the sea. The implementation of the project was made possible thanks to the close cooperation of the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous, the Eratosthenes Center of Excellence, the architect Ms. Christina Georgiou and all the contributors who worked with passion and dedication. The new Center aspires to become a hub of culture, education and scientific knowledge, promoting Polis Chrysochous both in Cyprus and internationally.
